Farewell to RUN's Director Dear RUN community: I hope this note finds you thriving in this new year. I want to let you know that Constance Slider Pierre, our fearless Director of Organizing and Community Engagement, will be leaving Housing California. Her last day will be February 15th. I want to thank Constance on behalf of Housing California, our board, our partners, and resident leaders for her leadership of the Residents United Network. Her vision of centering the people most affected by our housing crisis in our work has brought us to the moment where we are in a powerful position to make homes for all a reality in our state. She will be missed. We wish her all the best in wherever her journey takes her. Housing California is committed to RUN's integral role in Housing California's three-pillar strategy for change: policy, communications, and building power. In the interim, while we are doing our due diligence in finding a replacement, our Associate Director David Zisser will step in as the acting Director of Organizing and Community Engagement. During this transition, David will have strong support from the rest our Housing California team and special RUN consultants, our Board of Directors, and our partners at Community Change. As RUN moves into its fifth year, we have much to celebrate. With Constance's leadership, we have all played a role in building RUN to be an important part of our movement for housing justice. It is through organizing and centering the people with lived experience, both residents and staff, along with narrative change and strong policy, that we will create a California where everyone can thrive. I have included a note below from Constance to all of you. Please join me in both thanking Constance for her incredible service and wishing her well in the next steps of her journey. Warm Wishes, Lisa Hershey Executive Director
"Dear RUN Partners, It has been such a pleasure to work in this community and contribute to this impactful work. After deep reflection, I have decided to step away from my work and take some time to rejuvenate while spending quality time with the people I love so much. During this period, I will evaluate and assess my next career opportunities. I am grateful that this experience has prepared me to be a better leader, organizer and mentor and I look forward to continuing to contribute my gifts in meaningful ways. I will continue to be a partner and an ally as we continue to advance housing justice and equity throughout California. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to spearhead this important work and for having the vision and fortitude to lead the change we want to see in the world. In Solidarity, Constance Slider Pierre
