Dear RUN, We’re thrilled to welcome Francisco Dueñas, executive director of Housing Now!, to tomorrow’s Community Care call. Housing Now! is a statewide coalition of tenants’ rights groups working together to protect California’s 17 million renters, and RUN has been a proud coalition member, supporting different actions in the past. As we brainstorm what RUN members think should be a state law in 2022 at our regional convenings, tomorrow will be a chance to think about the tenants’ rights aspect of housing justice and what’s bubbling up across the state. Join us from 1-2pm and hear from Francisco about where Housing Now! is headed for the next year, and ask him questions about what campaigns might arise this year for tenants’ rights. Use this Zoom link or call in at 669 900 6833, meeting ID 977 6290 7497. Speaking of those regional convenings, our first one is next week - we kick off in South Sacramento on 9/16! Check below to register for your region’s event, or join another region virtually if it works better for you. We’re meeting all through September to get your ideas about what should be a state law for housing justice! As a reminder, masks will be required at any in-person regional convening. Register right now for the regional convening closest to you! 9/16: South Sacramento, outside in person in English with Spanish interpretation 9/17: Davis, outside in person in English with Spanish interpretation 9/20: Orange County, virtual in Spanish with English interpretation 9/21: San Diego, virtual in English with Spanish interpretation 9/21: North Highlands / Sacramento, outside in person in English with Spanish interpretation 9/23: Stockton, outside in person in English and Spanish 9/23: North Sacramento, outside in person in English with Spanish interpretation 9/23: LA/Ventura, virtual in English with Spanish interpretation 9/29: Inland Empire, virtual in English and Spanish 9/30: Bay Area, virtual in English Take good care, Tori |
