Dear RUN,

A whole lot of you took the RUN survey, and we’re getting closer to a decision about what RUN will take on in 2021. After a massive virtual brainstorm in two languages across five meetings, a careful narrowing-down process on our Community Care calls, and votes from all over the state, our survey results are in.

We’ll look at what everyone voted for on Wednesday at our regular Community Care call at 1pm. Then, next week, 60 senior leaders will use a special checklist, along with the survey data, to discuss how RUN should spend our time and energy in 2021. By the time we come back for our Community Care call on December 12, we’ll have an ordered list of priorities for next year. Then we can start planning how to fight for them.

Want to see what everyone voted for? Join us at Wednesday’s Community Care call, where we’ll dig into the results and send each other off for Thanksgiving, RUN style.

Take good care,

Tori

News you can use

  • To win at chess, you need a gameplan.” California didn’t build anywhere near the affordable housing we need in the last few years - and the state auditor, along with David Zisser from Housing California, had some strong words about the $2.7 billion that we could have used to fund it.
  • The LA Times examines how landlords have used so-called “crime-free” housing policies to target Black and Latino renters trying to find a place to live, in another example of modern-day redlining.
